Ash Jenkins was the typical boy next door. Wait, who am I
kidding? There was nothing typical about that boy.
He was tall, ripped, and had the voice of a man twice his
age. Intelligent, sexy as sin, and barely legal.
Sent to live with his dad after getting in some trouble
with the law, he was definitely someone I needed to stay away from.
But he had his sights set on me, and he didn’t try to
hide it.
Did it still make me a cougar if I was the prey?
Review
Rating: 3.5*
This was a well written read but it missed the comedic mark for me. It was, however, really interesting having an older woman with a much younger (barely legal) man. It should have had me thinking no, just no to this couple but instead it had me rooting for them. There was a maturity to Asher that was beyond his years which made me almost forget his age.
Kirsty has put her own life on hold to focus on raising her daughter. Asher makes her feel desirable, wanted and encourages her to press 'play' on her life again. When his age is revealed, she pushes him away knowing that people won't accept their relationship but the heart wants what the heart wants. Life is too short for regrets.
Whilst I seem to have missed the comedy element (Ash puns aside), I enjoyed the older woman, younger man story. The way I feel about this one is probably influenced by the book I read before this, which emotionally wrecked me. I'm fairly certain that any other book would have received the same result. It was a good story with really likable characters.

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.
She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.
She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.
The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.
