Burn (Steel Brothers Saga #5)
by Helen Hardt
Release Date: 14th February
Synopsis
Jonah Steel is knee deep into trying to solve the mystery surrounding his family and his brother’s abduction, and the arrival of his best friend has complicated the situation…although not as much as his infatuation with his brother’s therapist, Dr. Melanie Carmichael. The quiet humility of the blond beauty has him enthralled, and he burns for her as he never has for any woman.
Melanie Carmichael is intelligent and driven, yet filled with regret. She has fallen in love with gorgeous Jonah Steel, but fears she may never be able to tell him. The demons from her past have come for her…and she may not get out alive.
Review
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
The further we get into unraveling what happened to Talon Steel, the more complex it becomes with more questions than answers.
Meanie has been pulled further into the mystery either from her growing relationship with Jonah or because of events with another patient. The impact of this leaves Melanie traumatised, scared and weak, which leaves Jonah not able to fully explore the relationship he wants with her.
It becomes more challenging for these characters to know who to trust and what steps to take next as those involved will do anything to protect themselves.
I am in awe of this series and was left gasping for the next installment. This was no exception. The writing was exceptional, the story sad yet riveting and the characters flawed yet flawless. I was once again on the edge of my seat with my heart racing at the many twists and turns.
