Review
Rating: ☆☆☆☆
A pretty fine read, with a engaging plot and the sweetest characters that will draw you into their story.
Paige is working herself to the bone trying to give her and her daughter a secure life. Working more than one job just to keep a roof over their head and food on the table and trying to get through college. Her daughter, Casey, is the sweetest, most inquisitive, most insightful little girl but is struggling with being different with her prosthetic leg. When Paige meets JT at one of her jobs, her life begins to change for the better although with some reluctance on her part. She is so used to doing everything by herself that having someone who wants to help is a new feeling. JT has so much to offer them both as he opens his life to them and finds himself wanting to make a difference. In having lost a leg himself, he shows Casey a whole new outlook on life.
This was very much a sweet read about opening up and letting others in. It is also about realising that dreams and priorities change as our lives change. This is a quiet read with the focus on the characters and the turmoil they feel but this made the read for me. It was worth it all for the time I got to spend with these characters and their story.
