Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
The first book in this series was really good. This one was awesome.
When you've put your past behind you and rebuilt your life, it has a tendency to come back and bite you. Liz has worked hard to put her past as a stripper behind her and has built up a successful bakery business.
Parker knew from the first moment he saw Liz that she was the one for him. It took him a little while to gather his wits to speak to her but once she does there is not going back. Liz's reluctance to let him in is more to do with her fear of him finding out about her past than her not liking him. The course of true love doesn't run smoothly as someone is determined to ruin her and split them up.
There is the six degrees linkage between the characters of the two books, which is why it's important to read the first in the series. I loved the chance we had to get to know the characters and see such a beautiful relationship develop between Liz and Parker, especially Parker's devotion to her; then bam into the fast paced action that kept me on the edge of my seat. But what I loved most is the time spent afterwards dealing with the aftermath, giving Parker time to show his love and devotion despite everything. The power of love can get you through anything. Amazing job!
