He’s also the number one person of interest in a double homicide and recently traded to a losing team who is showing him no love. And wouldn’t it be just his luck that his career splashed in the toilet six months after his long-time agent kicked the bucket? Now, he’s stuck with Ryker Kitsch.

An agent is supposed to fix his life, though, not break his heart.

Speaking of breaks, ex-athlete Ryker Kitsch wants his in the sports agency realm. He sees his chance to make a name for himself by helping rebrand his agency’s newly acquired hockey star, Timothée Croneau. The guy needs every lick of positive PR he can get. So, why is the devilishly gorgeous forward fighting him at every step and leaving Ryker to wonder if he’s been hired for a babysitting gig?

Rating: 3.5*

Hockey player Timothee has been implicated in the double homicide of his mother and step-father. That is on top of playing for a team that is not particularly good. Ryker steps in to clean up his public image.

I struggled to connect to Timothee. He came across as arrogant, opinionated and he had to be right all the time. There didn't seem to be any concern from him about the seriousness of his situation and didn't make much of an effort to minimise any damage. I struggled to understand why Ryker was so attracted to him. Timothee was very articulate in his viewpoints which was a saving grace.

I loved the premise of Timothee being implicated in the double homicide. However, it could have played on this so much more than focussing on improving his public image. I also felt that this element didn't reach a satisfactory conclusion for me...the book just ended.

There was a complexity to Timothee that I wasn't expecting that goes some way to understanding him more and why he is the way he is. Ryker could see this vulnerability beneath the surface.  The enthusiasm for life that Ryker showed was an infectious quality that balanced out Timothee's grumpy nature.
