Eliza was a character that had a long journey for me to like her. Her attitude in the first chapter was a little off putting but, with a few bumps along the way, she did it. She owned her mistakes and showed a maturity when she needed it. Eliza showed a remarkable growth throughout this read.
Benny impressed me from the get go with his determination to overcome his addictions. He was constantly trying to better himself but his one slip up was his reason for pursuing Eliza in the first place. He is very trusting which leads to some hilarious moments with Eliza trying to keep part of her life hidden.
Together their relationship enables Eliza to grow in maturity and come to trust others, whilst Benny is able to further conquer his addictions. This was a read full of secrets, complex characters and interesting twists, with humour and sweetness aplenty.
