Victoria Vane has done it again and has created an amazing read. What makes her stand out is that, whilst it is a romance, the story weaved around it is topical, relevant and raising real issues that ranchers are facing.
Cowboy Keith is a horse whisperer whose career is destroyed by a film filmed by fledgling film maker Miranda. When trying to bring the plight of wild mustangs to the public attention and trying to balance ranchers rights versus the animals rights, their paths cross again. The question is will Keith trust Miranda enough to try to be together after previous events?
Whilst the plight of the wild mustangs is what brings them together, their dreams could drive them apart as they both want different things from life. But dreams can change. Keith is very much like the wild mustangs he is trying to corral, with him not really fitting in anywhere and nobody really wanting him...until Miranda.
I loved this book, the characters and the backdrop. Victoria weaves all the elements together to produce a heartfelt read. The passion that Victoria feels for these stories and the nature around them comes through strongly in her beautiful story telling.
