A secret from yesteryear, this secret and this secret alone
Holds the answer to how their destiny will

Evolve.

Not to stray from the common Author cliché, I loved to read as a child – I actually excelled in reading from a young age.  This was definitely to my advantage.  In saying that I only enjoyed reading “happily ever after stories.”

As I grew older my pleasures turned to “teen romance stories” with the obvious transition being heavy love stories and of course Jackie Collins’ novels.

Then due to relationship and work commitments my reading all but ceased until my children were at an age where I could steal and hour or two (which then became and hour or four).

A few years ago I discovered the Twilight Saga, this kept my thoroughly entertained for years as I read and re-read numerous times… Enter 50 Shades.

Whilst I was a little fearful to read this erotic tale, something tugged at my inner thoughts and I succumbed, like everyone around me falling for the likes of one Christian Grey.

I continued from that moment reading many many stories and getting involved with Indie Authors from around the globe – something then happened to me.  I awoke one Saturday morning with a whole story fixed in my mind.  This had happened to me a lot over the years but this story was so clear and concise and I acted on in with the inspiration of the Indie Authors.

That’s when my first novel Majestic Pearls was born – it has grown from there and is a beautifully work in progress.  In the interim, I wrote my current story, a novella entitled Que Sera Sera.

When I'm not at my desk, I'm reading – beta reading, or just plain reading.  As a full time mother and wife my life is very full.  My other passion, other than writing and family is Music … music from yesteryear is my genre.

Wolf's Paradox by: Margaret Taylor
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

Kathy is an author but she used to be a secretary for  Carrington Broadcasting. She had that job because it left her a lot of time to write. Her first visitor from another world was Ronon. Kathy helped him get used to this world by watching movies.  She  dreamed of him and thought he wasn't real for a long time but when one of her friends from work came over and saw him she knew that he was real. They moved to a small town in South Dakota. She has three vistors Cale who is a half dragon, Tonthor who is an elf with shockingly light green eyes and Niro a quillen smuggler.Tonthor, Niro and Cale were argueing about who gets to work with Kathy. Kathy has rules about how it works. She sends Cale and Niro out to the kitchen where there is Venison in the fridge, because she was going to be working with Tonthor for awhile. Tonthor kept interrupting  what she was typing so she kicked him out. She saved everything because she couldn't hear anybody in the kitchen. She was right and she knew where they were going to be  so she headed down to Ketchens Pub. Where there was a fight started that Niro started. So Kathy paid one thousand dollars to cover the damages. The way that they get to go home is by getting there story told by Kathy. He is the sheriff of the town. Ronon blames her because  she brought him here and can't get him home. All Ronon has to do is tell his story and then he can go home but he doesn't want to tell his story so he is stuck. What Kathy doesn't know is that Ronon came on his own to protect Kathy because she is a weaver.  If you want to know more about the story you will have to read it. I liked this story. I loved this story. It was a fast read.

Review of "One More Time (Nicki Sosebee #5)" By: Jade C. Jamison

"One More Time (Nicki Sosebee #5)" By: Jade C. Jamison
Rating:☆☆☆☆☆

Being the 5th book in the Nicki Sosebee series, you really need to have read the previous four first. To get the best the experience of this series and the characters it is important that they are read in order. So Nicki Sosebee is still trying to make her mark as a journalist, whilst still working part-time as a waitress. Her love life is still complicated as she is still drawn to two men: Sean and Jesse. She has chosen to be with one of them and it is getting serious, much to Nicki's horror. Commitment scares her as she fears loosing her independence and the fun they are having. The story that she chases in this book is quite different than the previous ones. On one of her drives through town, she notices that there are more people living in poverty than she thought. She sets out to raise awareness of this and the plight of the homeless. Along the way she manages to anger those who don't want to admit the problem and who want to shift the problem away from their town. Those that she angers make threats against a friend. Will the powerful win out over Joe public or can Nicki make a real difference with her campaign? Whilst Nicki is still the fun, sassy woman from the previous books, she is certainly more thoughtful and we see a touch of vulnerability in her as fears losing her independence in a marriage. I do wonder if the fact that she is examining her own feelings and future is the reason why she is more in tune with her surroundings and spotted her story. She has grown quite a bit over the course of the series so far and it's going to be interesting and fun to see her develop further as we follow the rest of her journey. This is my favorite so far!

An avid reader of the Romance genre, the books in her personal library range from historical to erotica and everything in between. “I love reading a sweet romance set in the English Regency period where men were gentlemen and the women pretended to be naïve. But sometimes you just need a hot sexy romance to cap off a long week,” she smiled. The bookshelves in her home are filled with a variety of authors and she is humbled to now be among their ranks.

Review of "Nicki Sosebee Foursome (Nicki Sosebee, #1-4)" By:Jade C. Jamison

"Nicki Sosebee Foursome (Nicki Sosebee, #1-4)" By:Jade C. Jamison
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

Nicki Sosebee is a strong, fun sassy woman who knows exactly what she wants whether it be a man or a story. OK, so she's only a trainee reporter and still learning the ropes but that doesn't stop her hunting down a story and asking the awkward questions and pretty much figuring out the story behind the crime. Not bad for a rookie!! Plus juggling being a reporter with being a waitress and selling make-up should put the reins on her personal life. Yet she puts as much energy into her personal life as she does her professional and manages to end up in bed with some very hot men. In addition to her short loved affairs, she is attracted to and drawn to her best friend Sean. Sean is equally attracted to and drawn to Nicki but neither will act on their feelings after a disastrous attempt whilst in college. Add in to the mix an incredibly sexy Jesse who is attracted to Nicki and he is not afraid to act and make Nicki his own. Of course being Sean's best friend is an added complication but who knows who Nicki will actually end up with? This is a collection of Nicki's first four stories: Got the Life, where Nicki is on the trail of an arsonist; Dead, which sees Nicki on the trail of a murderer with a possible political motive; No Place to Hide, which sees a serial rapist set Winchester on high alert and Nicki investigating; and Right Now, which sees a series of robberies taking place where odd items are taken. I loved the fun nature of these books - Nicki is a bright and bouncy woman, full of enthusiasm and no sense of danger. Throughout these stories she ends up figuring things out before the cops do but ends up putting herself in danger. But that's OK because she has two incredibly sexy men in her life who can rescue her! Nicki Sosebee reminds me of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, who is another sassy, strong woman with men decisions to make. Nicki is a good reporter on her way to being a great reporter. Works hard, plays hard and enjoys life. With a great supporting cast of crazy friends and sexy men, this is a series to be followed.

Review of "Her Master's Courtesan" by Lily White

"Her Master's Courtesan" by Lily White
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

Aiden acquires women and turns them into courtesans, slaves meant to serve their master’s every sexual desire. Although it was Rebecca’s golden hair and broad smile that caught his attention, it was Rebecca’s slim curvaceous body that he desired. Rebecca was to go to another member of the secret society Aiden belonged to after her training was complete, yet her body was like a drug to him, a drug he wanted more and more of each time and each way he took her. When Rebecca finally accepts her circumstances she comes to the realization that the only semblance of happiness she can expect to attain is to give Aiden what he wants in the hopes that he’ll want to keep her for his own instead of giving her up. She wants to make him love her by showing him love, but Aiden doesn’t seem capable of love and adamantly expresses his clear desire of not wanting love. When he does sell Rebecca to a man far more sadistic than himself, Rebecca must fight for her life. I found Aiden to be a deplorable character for what he did, taking women and breaking them down mentally and physically to turn them into whores to be sold. I admit that I did read this story with the hope that Aiden would indeed come to love Rebecca in some conventional sense of the word and although that didn’t happen I was pleased that there was somewhat of a happy ending to this story. I wouldn’t call his feelings for her love by any means, yet they seemed to have a connection with one another beyond that of a master and his courtesan. I admired Rebecca’s spirit in rebelling against Aiden in the beginning in the hopes that she would gain her freedom, yet found it somewhat of a relief when she started to accept the circumstances in which she was in since freedom was not an option and her acceptance and compliance meant she wouldn’t be punished. This story is not for everyone, but rather a very specific group of readers. You won’t find a traditional love story here or perhaps even what you would call a love story at all, but if you are looking for some steamy kinky sex in your reading, this first book in a series will not disappoint.

Author Charlie Daye Takeover 2/25/2014!

Author Bio:
"My name is Charlie Daye. You may not realize this but Charlie Daye is not my real name. It's a pen name that was created using my nickname. If I could legally change my name to Charlie, I would but my mother would have a heart attack. *Grins* Sometimes I question what my parents were thinking when they named me because when you translate my birth name to English it means scarf. Yes, that is correct... I was named after an article of clothing. When I was a little girl I always dreamed of being a world champion kickboxing super model but alas that was not meant to be. So, I settled for writing stories about gorgeous women who know how to kick some serious ass. The guys are pretty hot too though. My childhood was quite entertaining especially with an imagination like mine which intensified after I found my first book by Richie Tankersely Cusick. I never had an imaginary friend but I have come across a ghost or two in my time that have scared the crap out of me and I swear I saw a flying saucer in Vegas! My sexy Italian husband is a chef by trade and makes the most amazing chocolate lava cakes for dessert - they are just sinfully delicious but I still refuse to eat asparagus. It's just nasty! We have an American Bulldog named TinkerBell who is a giant sized baby that hogs up the entire bed."

Excerpt 1:

"Then let me be the first and hopefully the last.”
                “Bold words.”
He grinned, “Nothing worth having is ever given freely.”
I laughed, “So, I’m a prize to be won?”
“You, my dear, would be the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest. The journey will be long and daunting but the rewards… immeasurable.”
“You do realize that some who have attempted the journey have never made it back alive, right?”
He moved the hand that rested at my waist up to cup the back of my neck and kissed me softly on the cheek. I closed my eyes and sighed. It had been so long since I’d felt the warm caress of lips across my skin.
“You, sweet Julietta, would be worth any peril,” he whispered at my ear."

Excerpt 2:

He laughed humorlessly. “If there is one thing I have remembered from my previous life is that it is not a good idea to piss off your father. If we’re going to do this, I want his blessing this time.”
I dropped my head on his chest, “He will never give it.”
He pulled me away from him so he could look down into my face, “I know but I won’t have it any other way Julietta. I don’t want to have to spend my life always looking over my shoulder and what about my family? Do you honestly think your father wouldn’t retaliate against them?”
He was right. I knew he was and it left a bottomless pit of despair to settle in my gut. “Is this goodbye then?” I asked.
He lifted my face by my chin and kissed me softly, “As much as it pains me it has to be.”
I watched him walk away and again my heart shattered into a million tiny pieces. I sank down against the wall and let the tears fall.

Skye Callahan has been coming up with stories for as long as she can remember, and by elementary school she was writing them down to share with friends and teachers. Ghosts and vampires were always her favorite beings to write about and those interests led to her debut novella Fractured Legacy in 2013. With Bound and Unbroken, her characters led her on a departure from the paranormal world and into the realm of BDSM romance. When she isn’t spending time with the voices in her head, she works to help other women design their own style of freedom as a consultant for Jamberry Nails, and spends time with her Husband and ferrets.

Review of "Taming Casanova" By: MJ Carnal

"Taming Casanova" By: MJ Carnal
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

Can Casanova be tamed? That is the question. Casanova takes the form of Kevin Merck, a male model with lots of women in every city - he likes women and likes to have a good time. But despite this playboy image he is one of the most generous and kind hearted men around. He donated bone marrow when his friend, Ryan West, got sick, which in turn has had a detrimental impact on his own health. His friends are his family, quite simply. Andi Allen is the only girl with the potential of taming Kevin but Andi doesn't like the way he lives his life. They are constantly clashing over this despite the spark of attraction between them - there is a thin line between love and hate. Andi is determined that she is not going to fall for his charms until the one moment that changes her perception of him and she starts to see the real man underneath. Just as things start to go right for Andi and Kevin, tragedy strikes and it could be the end before they have a chance to cherish the love they have found with each other. This story not only explores the growing love between Andi and Kevin but also the inter-linking relationships between this group of friends - friends that are more like family. As the prognosis does not look good for one of their own, the friends bond together for one of the most emotional scenes in the book. This was a book that made me laugh and cry as the celebrate together, mourn together and support each other. There can be absolutely no doubt that Andi and Kevin are in love. They are drawn to each other over and over. It just takes them a little while longer for their heads to realise what their hearts and their friends already know. Taming Casanova is part of the 'Moretti' series and having never read any of the others, I wondered if I could sneak in and read this one and have a complete understanding of the relationships and the characters. Yes it was possible but I now want to find out more about the rest of the characters and relationships, so I'm off to read the rest!
